ABOUT OUR COACHING TEAM

- Program Assistants are current and former skaters that have been trained to assist skaters in the Canskate Program. They can be identified by their red jackets.

CANskate Program Assistants (PAs)
Our CANskate programs are led by professional coaches, but we rely on the help of volunteer Program Assistants to assist with warm-ups, review skills, and facilitate practice and games. Program Assistants are skaters from our club who have been trained at PA Clinics. We provide ongoing training to ensure the skill development and quality of our programs. You'll recognize these assistants by the red vests they wear.
To become a Program Assistant, skaters must demonstrate all CANskate skills, possess leadership qualities, and have a strong enthusiasm for coaching. While the typical age for Program Assistants is 12 years old, younger skaters may be considered at the discretion of the CANskate Coordinating Coach.
If you are interested in becoming a Program Assistant, please indicate this when registering.
